From January 1, 2018, Vietnam officially applied Euro 4 emission standards for new car models. This regulation aims to reduce toxic emissions into the environment, contributing to protecting public health. Along with that is the need to use DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) for imported or newly manufactured vehicles in Vietnam.
Due to dependence on foreign supplies, the cost of imported DEF is often higher than that of domestic products.
Domestic production of DEF is relatively new, leading to many concerns about product quality.
Using imported DEF (Adblue) will cost a lot of money to operate, while using domestically produced DEF will cause concerns about quality and affect the vehicle engine.
Madin AdBlue is a high-quality diesel exhaust fluid, manufactured by Madin – the leading company in manufacturing automotive additives in Vietnam. With a modern production process on an automatic line, Madin AdBlue perfectly meets the most stringent emission standards: Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6, helping to reduce 80-95% of NOx emissions, save 3-5% of fuel and protect the environment.

The capacity of the tank also depends on the vehicle model. Generally, it varies from 18L to 60L. To get this information, contact your dealer or refer to your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
As with fuel, a number of factors influence consumption: vehicle type, engine type, vehicle load, terrain and driving style. Furthermore, the size of AdBlue tanks varies considerably, so the frequency of refilling depends particularly on the vehicle type.
However, the average AdBlue consumption is around 3-5L for every 100L of diesel.
On heavy duty trucks, the gauge shows the remaining AdBlue ® level in the tank. On passenger cars, a warning light appears on the dashboard when the remaining range is 2,400 km (when this signal appears, it is time to top up).
AdBlue ® is non-flammable, non-explosive and harmless to the environment. It is classified as a transportable liquid with minimal risk. If you spill AdBlue ® on your hands or clothes, simply wash it off with water.
AdBlue ® does not directly affect engine performance. It helps reduce pollutant emissions to meet European regulatory standards. However, if the AdBlue ® tank is empty, engine performance may be limited or the vehicle may stall.
The use of SCR and AdBlue ® technology allows for the optimization of the combustion process, which can result in reduced fuel consumption for some vehicles. This reduction in consumption is already included in the figures published by car manufacturers.
On the dashboard, the warning light will come on for approximately 2,400km before you need to refill AdBlue ® (this warning level is common to all vehicles and is standard). However, when the light comes on, you should not worry too much because the vehicle can travel a few hundred more kilometres . Note that you need to pour at least 4L of AdBlue into the tank for the warning light to go out.
