New models using new imported diesel engines from 2022 in Vietnam will most likely need to add AdBlue solution to meet emission standards at level 5, equivalent to Euro 5 standards in Europe.
On some models using Diesel engines coming soon in Vietnam such as Ford Everest or Ford Ranger can be equipped with AdBlue (or DEF) solution tank – a support solution to reduce the amount of NOx in the exhaust gas into the air. and if this solution is not available or this type of solution is dry, even the vehicle may not start.
So what is AdBlue solution, expensive or cheap and important where to sell?
In the past, when emissions regulations were not tightened, Emissions Recirculation System (EGR) and Diesel Emissions Particle Filter (DPF) were two parts sufficient to help the system limit gas toxic discharge to the environment but the green standard is increasing, making Production must integrate a new support system called the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalytic processor, using a dedicated DEF  solution.
In fact, DEF stands for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (Diesel Emissions Solution), also known as AdBlue – copyrighted by VDA (Germany Automobile Industry Association), and also known as AUS 32 hay arla 32; This is a chemical used to reduce the amount of NOx (NO, NO2) into the environment, sprayed into the waste pipe, located in front of the SCR catalytic processor.

This solution does not participate in the combustion process in the engine compartment or a fuel additive. AdBlue is a solution containing 32.5% ure (Formula (NH2)2CO) High purity and 67.5% remaining is Distilled water, Completely heavy metals, non-toxic when in contact with human skin (of course not taken, avoid contact with eyes and children). The SCR system will spray AdBlue solution directly into the stream emissions, chemical reactions and NOx gases are cleaned.
scr which has been put on vehicles and bus since 2004, shows significant effect on environment. So since 2016, AdBlue has become a mandatory requirement when using diesel cars in Europe. AdBlue is sold at all gas stations as well as supermarkets throughout Europe. On average, a 2-liter average of AdBlue can run up to 1,000 km (500 km per liter), at a price of 1.5 Euro/liter (about 1.8 USD, equivalent to more than 40,000 VND). For example, for Ford Everest cars with an 18-liter tank, users will cost up to 900,000 VND and travel about 9,000 km.
All new cars manufactured, assembled and imported in Vietnam currently apply the emission standard level 5, equivalent euro5 from January 1, 2022; Therefore, some models with diesel engines will have to be equipped with SCR system will appear on the market and need to load AdBlue solution. On these vehicles, there are indicator lights and warnings in stages when the AdBlue solution is about to run out, what the user needs to do is just open the lid of the separate tank (usually the blue cap next to the oil tank cap) to fill the solution; If left empty, the car may not be able to restart. Currently, petrol stations nationwide are being deployed a separate turret only to load adblue for cars, along with other retailers also trading this solution.

Currently, the price of adblue in Vietnam ranges from 20,000 – 50,000 VND/liter depending on origin and quality. Currently in the country, some manufacturers of this solution can be mentioned as: AdBlue® by Madin, Vinadef,…and in fact they have distributed AdBlue solution to many trucks and buses.

In the coming time, a series of new passenger cars diesel diesel will be brought to the Vietnamese market and must meet Euro 5 standards, such as: Ford Everest, Ford Ranger, Ford Ranger Raptor, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Nissan Navara, Nissan Terra, Isuzu Mu-X… Many of them will be equipped with an SCR system and need to pour AdBlue solution to help the vehicle operate well and ensure the emission standard level 5.
